Anyone know of a 'good' scratch repair kit that will get a deep scartch out of my paintwork? Some knob has caught my car, its not down to the metal but its noticable and needs doing. Am I wasting my time with a repair kit - has anyone used one? Should I just be going straight to a bodyshop?

If its deep then you will need to take it to a body shop. For light scratchs try T Cut or I have heard the quixx scratch repair kit is also good BUT you have to be realistic - an £10 kit isnt going to repair a written off panel!
